Age: Roughly 6-7? It hasn't really been stated in canon.
Gender: Female
Personality: Sofia is the cutest cutie to have ever cutied upon this very earth. But in all seriousness. Sofia is perhaps one of the sweetest little girls you could ever hope to meet. She believes that she can achieve pretty much anything as long as she believes in herself. She’s extremely kind to her friends and always willing to give others a second chance even when she’s still doubtful about the consequences.

Sofia also has a very clumsy side to herself, Even though her mother married into royalty. Sofia sometimes struggles to retain her regal side and still wants to hold onto her very carefree persona and once in a while likes to break out into applying herself into things she would have done when she was a commoner (i.e., When she invites her friends from the village to a sleepover she tries to convince her stepsister Amber and her other princessy things that things like dancing silly and sticking pine-cones into one’s hair will be fun.) Sofia also always wants to see the good in everyone despite how horrid they are towards her or whatever their background might be.

Backstory: Once upon a time in the magical kingdom of Enchancia there lived a little girl named Sofia. She lived a fairly normal life working in the show shop with her mother. One fateful they were summoned by the king who needed a new pair of slippers. Sofia's mother placed a slipper onto the king's foot. It was a perfect fit and so were they. Sofia's mother and the king fell in love right away and before they knew it they were moved into the castle where Sofia not only gained a new home - she also gained a stepfather and two step siblings. Prince James and Princess Amber.

At first Sofia found it extremely hard to fit in with the royal lifestyle. She had doubts, especially when it was announced that the king was going to throw a ball in her honour to welcome her into the family, as for her mother, the celebration was of course the wedding. After running into her mother' quarters one night shortly after the announcement. King Roland approached Sofia with a magical amulet to try and make her feel better, Her mother also assured her that if that the other members of high society weren't happy with how Sofia acted that it was their problem and not hers. But unknown to Sofia there were two threats upon the horizon she was completely unaware of...
First of all, Sofia's new stepsister had been growing very jealous of all the attention the new princess had been gaining both at home and at school and had decided to take it upon herself to make Sofia feel extremely unwelcome into her new lifestyle, first of all by convincing her brother James to get Sofia to take a ride on the enchanted swing at Royal Prep which is notorious for throwing people off into the school fountain and then later on during dance class by giving Sofia a pair of enchanted dance shoes that will throw her all over the place with no control over her feet what soever.
Sofia's second threat came from the castle's sorcerer, Cedric. Cedric had introduced himself to Sofia as someone who would much prefer be out in the world fighting dragons and going off on grand adventures but as luck would have it he was forced to take over after his father as the king's sorcerer. However Cedric had other intentions once he gained the amulet of avalor he would gain the power to take over the kingdom and show everyone in the land including his parents that he was indeed much greater than the bumbling sorcerer everyone took him for. The amulet was the very one King Roland had given Sofia earlier on in the story and Cedric took it earn Sofia's trust to devise a way to grab the amulet from her. Opportunity arose when Sofia , desperate for help to learn how to dance for the royal ball from him was given a spell from Cedric that would supposedly help her gracefully dance with her stepfather. However the spell wasn't a dancing spell at all - it was a sleeping spell. Cedric had intended for Sofia to read the spell aloud in the ballroom so when she did everyone including herself would fall asleep and Cedric would only wake everyone up if she gave the amulet to him. However Cedric had miscalculated how the spell would work and ended up falling asleep himself once Sofia read the words from the sheet of paper Cedric had given her. Sofia was now the only one awake...
She had no one to turn to or ask for help - that was until she was visited by none other than Cinderella, Whenever a princess is in trouble another will come to help them. Sofia asked Cinderella if she would be able to break the spell. Cinderella replied no but explained to her that there might be another way...
by making amends with her step-sister Amber, who hadn't yet arrived to the ball as she had tore her dress when James had walked out on her for being so mean to poor Sofia.
Cinderella magically vanished and left Sofia to speak to Amber, The two eventually worked out their differences with each other and headed toward's Cedric's workshop to find another spell to reverse the one that had already been cast in the ball room. With the help of Amber and Sofia's animal friends, They were soon able to find a magic spell to help reawaken everyone who had fallen asleep - before they did however Amber decided to make up for her actions and give Sofia a proper dance lesson before they woke everyone up again.
Once everyone was awoken, Cedric sulked off back to his workshop as his plan had been foiled, but there would be plenty of other opportunities to take the amulet from Sofia. Meanwhile back in the ball room Sofia finally had her first dance with her step-father and then invited Amber to join in followed by Sofia's mother and James...Sofia asked King Roland why was he addressed as King Roland the second, He explains that he was named after his father. "Hmm.." said Sofia. "Then I guess that makes me Sofia the first!"

Moral Standing: SUPREMELY GOOD.

Dreams: All Sofia wants more than anything is to fit into her new life without any hiccups along the way, She wants to be the best princess she can be and prove to everyone she belongs into her new life-style.

Sofia also wants to make as many friends as possible, whatever background they have. Be they animal, A strange family of trolls living underneath the castle or a bumbling sorcerer who's name she can't pronounce exactly.

Fears: Sofia can be a little fearful of some things. Mostly things she's unsure of, or rumours she's picked up from the other princesses or family members. For example there's an episode where she purposely tries to avoid talking to the shyest member of her class because there had been rumours that she lived in a cave with goblins and had a pet dragon. This wasn't the case once Sofia visited Vivian's home and discovered she was just nervous around the other girls and was able to open up to others when performing with her mandolin, No one had actually visited Vivian before so there were all sorts of rumours circulating around the girl.

If Sofia does actually fear anything it's embarrassing herself in front of her family. When she is first brought to live in the castle she's very anxious about attending a royal ball in her honour as she has no idea how to dance or act around the other stuffier members of royalty. As a child though she probably does indeed still have alot of phobia's you would see in a child of her age. (Getting lost, scared of monsters etc...)

Extra: For every good deed Sofia performs whilst she wears the amulet she's rewarded somehow, For example, when she put a baby bird back with it's mother after falling from it's nest the amulet granted her the ability to speak to animals, However the amulet will also bestow a gift upon the wearer if they do something particularly bad. (There's supposedly an upcoming episode where Sofia is transformed into a frog for boasting about her singing voice.)

Character Location: Sofia will be arriving with the castle in tow. So plenty of rooms for anyone to move into if needed, Complete with ball room and observatory for anyone who feels like stargazing.
